Choosing the right size storage unit can be tricky to be sure.  So many people fail to take into consideration how they plan on using the unit.  Most of our customers find themselves needing to access specific boxes or items and bring them back and forth etc.  In these cases, it is best to leave room for maneuverability and perhaps little aisle ways.  Nothing is worse then having to access a box in the back of a storage unit and need to remove every item in front of it.

Generally, its not a good idea to just jam everything into a storage unit.  A little planning goes along way.  We always recommend putting large furniture items in the rear of the unit.  Also, look to stack items and boxes in order to make best use of the cubic storage space.  Our storage units (other than our locker units) are all 8 feet tall, so use that space productively.  You will get more bang for your storage buck by doing things in an organized fashion.

At Store N Save, our team is here to help make sure you select the right size.  First thing to do is to make a simple list of items that will be going in the unit.  It may look like this:  One full size couch, 2 dresser drawers, one queen bed, two side tables, 1 kitchen table small with 4 chairs, 10 small boxes, 15 medium boxes and 8 large boxes.  We can then help you figure out how you should store these items and we will ask other questions to make sure that you make best use of the space.

Store N Save has approximately 20 different storage sizes.  We generally recommend a range of sizes and then ask a prospective customer to come look at each size available and discuss all the issues of the move.  Keep in mind that many customers choose to upsize or downsize as their needs change.  We make this a very simple process.  We even allow our customers to utilize our moving truck if then wish to change to a unit on another floor of the building.  We will do all we can to make your storage experience a smooth one.

The bottom line is that it is best to take advantage of our institutional knowledge and let us partner with you to make the best size choice up front.  We can’t tell you how many times we’ve heard something like this: “Well, my uncle told me I needed a 5×10 and that’s what I came to rent.  Thank goodness you all walked me through things.  Turns out I needed something twice that size.  I’m so thankful I didn’t move into the wrong unit and then have to do a second move.”  We look forward to helping you, our next loyal customer!
