How Safe Is Your Stuff? What to Look for in a Secure Storage Facility in Long Beach

It is safe to assume that the average storage customer will presume that most every storage facility takes security seriously.  Unfortunately, this is not the case.  How do we know?  Well, we have gotten many customers over the years who told us that they came to Store N Save after having their storage unit broken into somewhere else.  Is this a common occurrence at storage facilities.  Yes and no.  It’s as simple as this, a reputation is earned one way or the other.

So, what makes Store N Save a safer alternative than some of our competitors? 

* First, we are fortunate to have our staffed office located between the only two entrances to our building.  All customers are required to sign in directly with our manager or assistant.  If we don’t recognize you or are unable to verify you, you can’t enter.  Other facilities don’t monitor like this.  Many have gate codes that can be given out to anyone.  Many a criminal has entered a facility this way.

* Store N Save also has security cameras at both entrances, on our ramp leading up and in our parking areas and outside the building.  Our staff can see live shots of all cameras at once.  If someone drives in without checking in, we go immediately and check in with them, making sure they belong in the building.

* Walk Arounds:  We require our staff to get about the building and check in on our customers and utilize our checklist for anything that might be or become a security issue. 

* On site staff.  Our staff is the same staff that answers phones, shows prospective customers storage units and works the building every day.  Many of our competitors have call centers (different staff) as well as roaming employees that go from one facility to another, which means that they have a difficult time knowing any of their regular customers.  This is a big difference in making a facility safe.

*Lastly, Store N Save does NOT offer extended hours to visit the building.  While on the surface, this may look like we are lacking a feature many facilities have.  Although it is convenient to be able to access a storage facility after the staff leaves for the day, just remember, the thieves know that too.  When do you think a thief might choose to visit a facility? The answer is obvious.
